Overview of Services

NTC Forensics is a fully equipped digital forensics lab located In El Paso, Texas and is staffed by trained and certified personnel. We can perform any or all of the steps involved in a digital forensic examination starting with initial assessment and image acquisition all the way through report preparation and expert testimony. Each step of the forensic process follows established procedures for quality control and evidence preservation, is thoroughly documented, and can be reproduced and verified.

Forensic data recovery can be performed on a wide variety of devices, including desktop or laptop computers, cell phones, PDA's, digital cameras, and GPS systems. Data can also be recovered from digital media such as hard drives or floppy disks, memory cards, USB thumb drives, backup tapes, and cell phone SIM cards. If the data is stored electronically or in a digital format there is a good chance we can get to it. We also offer commercial data recovery for situations that do not need to meet the strict chain of custody and evidentiary requirements of a forensic exam.

The process of a digital forensics exam can often yield results beyond simple recovery of data. Internet and web activity can be traced, and email or chat conversations reconstructed. The dates and times of file access, changes and deletion can be determined. On cell phones and PDA's we can produce call histories, messaging text, and full phone directories. We can often recover or circumvent the passwords for protected files, and determine the logon credentials used for certain web sites. There are many activities that can be proved or disproved on the basis of the digital forensics process.
