Rates

The complete forensic analysis of a desktop computer with a 30 GB hard drive can take 24 hours or more of combined computer and technician time. Imaging the hard drive and pre-processing the image uses a large percentage of that time. The time needed for actual analysis and report preparation will vary based on several factors including the amount of data on the drive and the goals of the examination. By contrast, a complete examination and report on a typical cell phone can often be completed in two hours or less.

How We Charge
NTC Forensics bills its clients based on the amount of time spent directly on their projects. We do not charge for the time our lab computers run processing a project, for our phone conversations discussing the project, or for any work not specifically authorized by the client. Some basic information about our rates and billing policies are listed below.

Mileage for on-site response.
Hard drives or digital media required by the client.
Travel, lodging & meal expenses if applicable.
Actual time spent at depositions, hearings or trials.

Initial evaluations or phone consultations.
Unattended computer processing time.
Informal discussions involving a project.
Retainers.
Professional behaviour and confidentiality.

Billing Rates and Terms
Standard billing rate of $200 per hour.
Discounts available for law enforcement.
Contract rates available.
Credit cards and purchasing cards accepted.
